ShopProof Privacy Policy

ShopProof is made by WoodScraps LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the ShopProof app for iPhone and iPad.
The short version
ShopProof doesn't collect your data. There's no account and no sign-in, and we don't run servers that receive your inventory. Your tools, photos and settings stay on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter in ShopProof is stored only on your device. That includes tool details, serial numbers, values, notes, loss and claim details, your name and address for the claim report, and the photos you take or choose (tools, serial plates, receipts, police reports). We can't see any of it.
If you delete the app, this information is deleted from your device. If you back up your device with Apple's iCloud Backup or to a computer, it may be included in that backup, under Apple's terms and your settings.
Camera and photos
ShopProof asks for camera access so you can photograph your tools and their serial plates. You can also choose photos from your library. Photos are used only inside the app and are not uploaded anywhere by us.
Reading serial plates
Text on your plate photos is read on your device using Apple's built-in text recognition. The photos are not sent to us or to any other service for this.
Backups and exports
When you create a backup, claim report (PDF) or spreadsheet (CSV), ShopProof makes a file on your device. Where it goes next is up to you: Files, email, AirDrop, Google Drive or another app you pick. Once you share a file, how it's handled is governed by the service or person you sent it to.
Purchases
ShopProof Unlimited is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether the purchase was made, so it can remove the free tool limit.
Look up and shopping links
"Look up list price" opens web pages inside the app so you can find a tool's regular price. Look up only opens a Google search (with SafeSearch on) and the websites of tool makers and retailers; other links open in Safari. "Where-to-buy" links on the Replacement List open retailer search pages.
When you visit these websites, they may collect information under their own privacy policies (for example cookies, your IP address and what you search for). ShopProof doesn't add your personal information to these searches beyond the tool's brand, model or name.
Some shopping links may be affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, WoodScraps LLC earns from qualifying purchases. Using an affiliate link doesn't change the price you pay and doesn't give us any of your personal information; it only tells the retailer that the visit came from ShopProof.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
ShopProof has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
If you've chosen to share app analytics with developers in your device settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. These don't include your inventory, photos or personal details. You can turn this off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
Children
ShopProof is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and post the new version at this address. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
